Etsy Treasuries

I've been in a couple of Etsy treasuries recently, and thought I'd post the links here. Treasuries are such fun. The person who makes them pulls together 16 different items from different shops around Etsy, and organizes them into some sort of coherent whole. Sometimes it is based on color, or theme, or a phrase, or a holiday, or... I love seeing what folks come up with! The result says as much about the eye of the curator as it does about the individual artist's creations.

The first one I was in was titled "Campfire Stories", and was put together by 'ohclaudia'. She included Native American inspired artwork from regular posters in the campfire thread in the Etsy forums. http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c6764c79cde6d91c238fe8d/campfire-stories

The second one was titled "Hush Puppies Hat, Rooster Revelry, Cinnamon Browns and Indigo Blue", and the curator was 'TameraHerrod'. This one features a light blue and creamy brown color theme: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c69b68cc7c26d91128fba4f/hush-puppies-hat-rooster-revelry .

If you head over there, take some time browsing through the various Treasuries. It is fun to see the results!

'This is America' Etsy Treasury

Treasury time! One of my felted camera cases was included in the 'This is America' Etsy treasury: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c24be4d3c6e6d91a2dbcada/this-is-america#4c24bf2bf9e08eefe32c3222 . This one is a great grouping of Americana, including several beautiful native pieces.

I always am inspired and amazed at the breadth of talent that is showcased in these treasuries.

Treasury: "Red, White, and Blue", and progress on the gourd

Ok, it must be the season for treasuries. This is so much fun! This evening's theme was "Red, White, and Blue", in honor of the US Independence Day that is coming up in July. One of my hand felted camera cases was included. Here's the link, if you want to take a peek:

Ok, and so this post has a picture too, here's how far I've gotten on the gourd I'm working on. Today I strung waxed linen through the holes in the top to make a web, and then started weaving on it. There is a button in the middle to act as a handle, and a couple of wooden beads pre-strung on the warp threads. I have no plan--this is just free-form weaving, as the mood strikes me.

"Paint the Town Red" Etsy Treasury

A pair of my hair sticks is in an Etsy Treasury! The person who put the treasury together started with a gorgeous red dress, then found all the accessories to go with it. What a fun idea for a grouping! I'd love to see the finished outfit actually put together, but in the meantime it is a great fantasy game.

A Treasury of Violet and Indigo Dreams

Woah! Two days in a row for treasuries. I'm doing a rather bemused happy dance over here. :) This time, my indigo dyed hand spun yarn was included in an Etsy treasury titled, "Violet and Indigo Dreams". http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c014ae8c42b6d91535e1f54/violet-and-indigo-dreams

A Treasury for Dads

Oh, how fun! A set of my felted juggling balls was included in an Etsy treasury. The theme of this collection is items that Dad might like. http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=100113

It always tickles me to see what connections people make between the various items displayed on Etsy. I wouldn't necessarily have thought to put these 12 items together...but they absolutely fit as a cohesive whole. Nicely done, Dawn!

Another Treasury

I'm flattered over here! Some of my kumihimo braided cording has appeared in an Etsy treasury. The theme on this one is autumn colored items from the SCA Etsy street team. But looking at these treasuries is a dangerous thing for me. Now I'm eying the weaving stool, and the slat bed, and oooh is that necklace pretty, and...

Treasury: Fall Shawls

I was informed this evening that one of my tri-loom shawls was included in a treasury on Etsy. I popped over to take a look...and oh my! There are some tempting items in there. I'm honored to be included in that company. And I'm also sitting on my pocket book. I really don't need that Infinity Wrap, no matter how scrumptious it looks. Really. Don't need it.

Pretty pretty stuff!

Another Treasury

Two! I've been in two Etsy treasuries, in as many weeks. I'm doing the happy dance here. Luckily, everyone in the house is asleep, so I can be as goofy as I like while I celebrate.

This one is showcasing several of the folks on the SCA Etsy team. They chose my grey Gotland hand spun yarn to be included. I'm really pleased, especially given the quality of the other items they chose. There is some very tempting stuff in there! http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=78849
